You can simply use less water in the reservoir! Our water reservoir has measurement lines showing how many grams of coffee you will need, and how many cups of coffee it will produce.
The plastic parts are dishwasher safe and designed to be easily removed for this purpose. Do not place the brewer in the dishwasher, and do not submerge the brewer in water to clean.

"I want to give 5 stars, but it’s just too small. If this brewed 10 or 12 cups it would be the world’s most perfect coffee brewer. As is, I have to make 3 pots of coffee each morning, rather than two. Bold and flavorful, it immediately lets you know just how bad your old brewer was. I’m also not a fan of the thermal carafe lid which must be turned to allow filling of pot. Forget and you have a massive mess on your hands. Otherwise fantastic coffee."

"The thermal is a little heavy for an 83 year old. Also, I don't like that I have to check the fill position on the lid before brrewing. . I didn't and had brewing coffee all over my kitchen counter. Then have to change it to pour. Coffee I s pretty ok."
"This is not plastic free, regardless of the glass tube where the water goes through after the water reservoir has the water sitting in the forever plastic. This unit only makes 8 cups of coffee and that means that I would have to brew 2 pots of coffee or more when entertaining for dessert time. Also The paper cones are awkward that you have to fold them a certain way to avoid coffee grounds in your coffee. There is no choice to adjust your coffee from bold to regular. My current coffee maker brews 12 cups and has adjustments for strength of the coffee brew. With my favorite coffee brewer I have a stainless steel carafe and I can use vinegar and water to descale the unit, which means no chemicals or chemical residue. The entire Simply Good Coffee unit feels and looks cheap even though the price is not cheap. I am returning."

"Finally, a great cup of coffee! So easy to use, even my husband can do it. Used a Keurig for years because I wanted a carafe that would keep the coffee somewhat warm, but this is much better. Don’t feel rushed to drink another cup right away as it will stay warm in this carafe. I generally use the same Lavazza coffee, so it was not the coffee that was the problem - it was the brewer. I highly recommend this coffee maker - couldn’t be more pleased with the taste of the coffee."
